Classes & Workshops
The Ceramic League of Miami offers hands on pottery classes to students who are new to clay and those who are more advanced. All our experienced teachers will assist in all aspects of working with clay. Classes range from tile making, Raku, sculpture, hand building, making and working with paper clay and wheel throwing. Throughout the year we offer workshops which highlight additional techniques.
The Ceramic League offers classes in clay for the community year-round in 2 ½ hour sessions, once a week, for 6 weeks. Childrens classes are 2 hour. If a class falls on a holiday, a makeup class will be offered. We do not prorate classes. If you are unable to attend a class for some reason it is up to the teachers’ discretion to offer one makeup class. If there are less than 5 students, the Ceramic League has the right to cancel the class.
The class fee covers clay, limited glazes and firing. Students are asked not to wear rings or bracelets and if you have long hair and you are working on the wheel you may want to tie your hair back.
Our goal as a non-Profit organization is to make the experience of working in clay and furthering ones knowledge in clay accessible to everyone in our community.
